Biography

I’m a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai focused on the development of open source software for spatial transcriptomics. Besides my work’s project, I’m interested in R package development, expanding R communities, and teaching.

As a board member of the Community of Developers in Software for Bioinformatics CDSB, the Mexican Network of Bioinformatics RMB, and as co-founder of the chapter R-Ladies Cuernavaca, part of the global initiative R-Ladies, I frequently organize and teach R workshops. Thanks to my interest and work on spreading the programming knowledge, I have been awarded scholarships from RStudio and Bioconductor to present my contributions as a developer on international conferences.

Recently, I also was part of the organizing committee of the useR conference 2021 and the LatinR conference 2021.
